Healing our World

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
A Healing Our World feature illustrating the insanity of our world.
Water is one of the most important substances in our world. Without it, our we would have no life as we know it. Our bodies are mostly water and our planet is 75 percent water. Yet the way our culture computes value, water comes up a big zero. Of course we also call wild lands that have no structures "vacant" and of value only if they are near "desirable" urban areas. We call other nations that don't have our dependence on technology "under-developed" and "third world" and "under privilaged." How we have defined what is of value in our lives may be at the heart of our disconnection from the natural world.
